About
My passion for Website Design began at Bournemouth University, where I studied Computer Science. I started building websites of my own for local businesses in the UK. I was hooked on the mix of design and problem solving, and I knew I wanted to make a living doing what I found fascinating. I was always interested in Technology and what it has to offer. Funnily enough, that hasn't ended. I moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2013 where I continued designing and building websites, apps and automations.
More than ten years on, I still get the same dopamine hit from it. I've designed and built websites, apps and software for businesses of every size, and I love being part of the whole journey: shaping the idea, designing something that feels right for your brand, building it properly, and making sure it works beautifully on every screen and for every visitor. I've also been lucky enough to help build and care for software that tens of thousands of people use, and that brings in millions of dollars a year.
With larger organisations, I've helped with the bigger picture: shaping rebrands and branding decisions, guiding how they modernise their technology, and setting up a clear Website Design Process that brings graphic design, UX and development teams together. I'm especially passionate about design systems, a shared library of styles and building blocks built properly into the code, so every product looks and feels like one cohesive brand. Along the way I've led and mentored some wonderful teams, and moved large collections of websites onto modern, reliable platforms.
All of that led me to start Watsy, my Creative Digital Agency in Watsonia, Melbourne. As Founding Engineer and CTO, I help businesses grow with websites, apps, software and automations. Right now I'm especially excited about what AI can do for my clients: designing and building faster, creating eye-catching images and video, and taking the busywork out of everyday tasks. I also love teaching people to use AI and other new technology with confidence, whether they write code, design or create content.
